Environmental Impacts Of Oil Palm Plantations – Since humans first cultivated crops, agriculture has had an impact on the environment. While cultivation intensities can exacerbate these impacts, all agriculture, including subsistence agriculture, has environmental and social impacts both on agriculture and in the surrounding area. Oil palm planting is no exception. Identification of the impacts of oil palm plantations is important to reduce the negative impacts they cause. The training shows the most significant impacts of oil palm cultivation on land, air and water and reviews them based on the Principles and Criteria for Sustainable Palm Oil published by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). Various approaches and technologies that aim to reduce the impact of industry on the environment are also explained to overcome the impact of oil palm planting on the environment
